Eat Smart, Play Hard is great!!! It's perfect for the weekend warrior or the serious athlete. Dr. Applegate even writes about what to eat for yoga and golf in addition to marathons, bicycling, and weight lifting. There's super recent info on supplements and detailed meal plans for whenever you workout. It's straight-forward, easy to understand, fun, and has tons of great tips. A definite must-read for whatever exercise you do!

I thought I already knew every thing there was to know about eating right and exercising--until I read Eat Smart, Play Hard. I was amazed by how much new information and recearch has come out recently, just in the past few years. Applegate does a great job of highlighting the latest, most important eating strategies in an easy-to-read and understand format. I particularly liked her information on supplements. Her tips helped me to improve my running times, as well as my endurance in other sports such as cycling and hiking. This is a must-read.

This book, while probably good, is for the person getting 3-4 hours of heavy exercise per day. I found some good hints, but this is not applicable for the average person.

    I was skeptical of trying this because I am picky about tastes. I was afraid it would taste too salty like some Gatorade drinks. I was happily surprised at the taste of this energy drink. It does take 5-10 minutes for the tablet to dissolve into room temperature water though. Prepare it in advance and then chill in the refrigerator or pour over ice to enjoy immediately. I was NOT jittery at all and didn't feel as if my heart was going to jump out of my chest. If this will help boost my metabolisim, great!

    I was given this product as a sample and forgot it was in the pantry. I was having my usual end of the day energy struggle and remembered them. I thought why not give them a try. I noticed the first day I had energy after a busy work day to stay awake and complete projects at home. I was also much clearer in thinking. I thought it might have just been a good day so I decided to purchase and I have consistently experienced the same wonderful result. I'm getting more done with ease and energy. I usually drink it in the early afternoon when I know I need energy in the afternoon and evening. The only reason I give the product 4 instead of 5 stars is the price. As a previous reviewer stated Arbonne products are quite pricey, therefore I ration my use of the fizz tabs. But they work!

    I wasnt a big fan at first....didnt feel the extra "pep" but after drinking for 2 weeks I actually do like them. I have found that I am drinking more water and actually do feel less full and better. The price is a high (like most Arbonne products) but over all an ok product. I could probably find an energy booster drink drop in tab at my local grocery store for 1/3 the cost.

      I have wasted countless $$$ on programs without doing complete research...I decided to buy the book because a co-worker let me look throught her Curves Magazine, I took the test and was shocked to find that I was calorie sensitive. There was an ad about the book. I promptly went on line to get it

      .....The book, I love, it answered all of my questions about food, meal planner, exercise ,ect, and the curves program ..to the point I plan to join for my up coming birthday, to get that extra push needed to exercise.

      This diet (calorie limited choice) was just the right balance for me, having tried Atkins and Carbohydrate Addicts (unsuccessfully). The menus are easy to use, and I felt less hungry than on any other diet I've been on. Limited amounts of fruit and bread are allowed, making it easy to stay on the weight loss portion of the diet longer. A couple criticisms I had are that meat portions aren't specified as to pre-cooked or post-cooked weight. Also, the book doesn't give clear guidelines on how to eat when on the maintenance part of the diet. Only two vague statements: "you don't have to count carbohydrates" and "avoid sugar" are given.

      A concept introduced by these authors is that it is possible to "raise your metabolism" by increasing your daily calories. This is accomplished by alternately increasing calories for a few days, followed by decreasing them for up to two days. This takes up to three months.

      Most of the book talks about the curves diet which is very similar to the south beach diet. I don't like high protein, low carb diets so I didn't follow the diet. I did like the workout though. You have to have a set of exercise bands and a stop watch to do the workout. You do 40 second exercises with the bands and walking/jogging in place between each exercise. You are suppose to be able to do two complete sets of the exercises in 30 minutes. It took me an hour to do the exercises because you have to keep changing the position of the bands. I also found it hard to keep track of when 40 seconds are up.
